Many thyroid disease patients become aware of the fact that they are at an increased risk for developing thyroid malignancy but they are unsure how much that risk increases following diagnosis of their thyroid condition. Within the chapters of this book, I offer information regarding these increased risk factors, backed by reputable medical information sources. Also included is information regarding thyroid cancer prevention, detection and treatments. I believe this information may offer some comfort to thyroid disease patients but it will also help them to know what to look for regarding signs and symptoms of these higher-risk diseases and possibly to know what blood tests or other medical evaluations they may wish to request from their doctors should they suspect the possible onset of a malignant thyroid disease. Included are quotes from medical research studies found on the U.S. National Institutes of Health website (reprints allowed for educational purposes). This book is not intended to be an extensive manual but is intended to contain information most often sought by laypersons on the subject. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Phil Williams. The Queen: Art and Image, now on view at the National Portrait Gallery in London, makes a lot of claims for itself. The blurb on the gallery web-site tells one that by ´´exploring the startling range of artistic creativity that the Queen has inspired, the exhibition also reveals the radical changes in portraiture and profound developments since the 1950s.” It goes on to list some of the supposedly distinguished painters and photographers who have, during her long reign, produced likenesses of Elizabeth II. The list includes Pietro Annigoni, Andy Warhol, Lucian Freud, and Gerhard Richter among the painters, and Cecil Beaton, Annie Leibovitz, and Thomas Struth among the photographers. 1. If I were to personally name the symptom I believe to be the most life-altering and the one that causes the most anguish resulting from the disease of hypothyroidism, I would have to say that for me and likely for many other hypothyroid patients, ´´depression´´ would be that symptom. Certainly anxiety can also be present in hypothyroid patients and medical research studies have revealed this fact clearly. While anxiety commonly occurs together to varying degrees with depression, true clinical depression is often the emotional disorder that can more-often lead one to severe states of anguish, hopelessness and despair. It is in fact a major cause of suicide throughout the world according to medical statistics and this is just as true of hypothyroid patients who can experience ongoing struggles with this sometimes debilitating emotional issue as I have with my own autoimmune hypothyroidism (Hashimoto´s thyroiditis). Within the chapters of this audiobook, I address this emotional symptom of an underactive thyroid gland, including descriptions of how it manifests and how hypothyroid patients can deal with it and have it treated successfully to regain an improved quality of life. I will also include medical research study quotes, found on the U.S. National Insitutes of Health medical research information website (PubMed), which allows reprints for public education purposes. It is my sincere hope that this information proves to be helpful to hypothyroid patients seeking information regarding stubborn symptoms of depression that do not resolve for them adequately in spite of being treated for their hypothyroidism. Dedication: To all of my fellow hypothyroid patients, who struggle with low mood issues as I have. It is my prayer for you, to find peace of mind and victory over your feelings of chronic depression. It is also my hope to inspire you toward successful coping and treatment through the words I offer in this audiobook. 1. Language: English. Narrator: James M. Lowrance. It all starts with a train rushing through the night…. Well, actually, it starts when Jon Scieszka, former National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature, writes a cliff-hanger episode and passes it on to the next member of a cast of celebrated writers, who continue the story and passes it on. And what happens between episodes one and 27? Think werewolves and mad scientists, a talking pig, plenty of explosions, a blue Star Wars lunchbox, two meatballs, a whole army of villains and varmints, and one just plain bad egg. Not to mention the predicaments of our heroes, 11-year-old twins Nancy and Joe, raised in a circus, who must find the pieces of a Top-Secret Robot in order to rescue their parents before… tick, tick, tick! A collaboration between the National Children’s Book and Literacy Alliance and the Library of Congress’s Center for the Book, The Exquisite Corpse Adventure originated as a national literacy project for young people and helped launch the READ.gov website. With exquisite contributions by: M. T. Anderson, Natalie Babbitt, Calef Brown, Susan Cooper, Kate DiCamillo, Chris Van Dusen, Timothy Basil Ering, Jack Gantos, Nikki Grimes, Shannon Hale, Steven Kellogg, Gregory Maguire, Megan McDonald, Patricia and Fredrick McKissack, Linda Sue Park, Katherine Paterson (National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature), James Ransome, Jon Scieszka (former National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature), and Lemony Snickett. 1. Email marketing effectively is not rocket science. It is much more about human relationships. Did you know…I ran a national TV commercial airing on ESPN, MTV, A&E, VH-1, Comedy Central. In this commercial my call to action was to visit a website and sign up for my list, then I would follow up with these folks using email marketing…I also lost the gifts of communication (speaking, writing, reading, etc.) with a brain aneurism bursting and subsequent surgery. I can vividly recall one afternoon in the ICU when I was unable to communicate and resolved myself to wetting the bed at age 13. If I can learn this…I KNOW YOU CAN TOO! 1. Language: English.
